Opera's Opera ....

Opera - A Name many might associate with Ilaiyaraja . But for techies like me , it is a Web browser and that too one of the best.

In a world where you compete with Biggest in money , Microsoft and the biggest in Inspiration , Firefox , its difficult to make people notice you.

But Opera has competed with both of these and many others for years successfully and has been popular.

I have been using Opera for the past 3 years . I used Opera 6, Opera 7 , Opera 7.5 and Opera 8 and now Opera 8.2 .

I will vouch for the fact that "Opera is the fastest browser in the earth" , as they proclaim in their ads. It is also the browser with the smallest footprint.

It was the earliest to have tabbed browsing , a download manager , a ftp client , a Bittorrent client , voice browsing , mouse gestures , zooming etc... . I will write a separate article about the features of Opera sometime later.

Recently to celebrate their tenth anniversary they gave away free register codes to remove ads and banners. Now they have gone a step ahead and made Version 8.5 completely free..

Mini Microsoft

If you have ventured enough into blogosphere , you would have heard of employees being fired by employers just bcos they blogged about their employer.

Examples are many .My topic is not them. Rather the recent blog which has gained popularity bcos it comes from the stables of Microsoft.

It is being written by a Microsoft employee , who has not disclosed his name and maintains it a secret.

The blog available at http://minimsft.blogspot.com/ has become famous inside Microsoft and all microsoft employees vent their frustration there.

It is a online bookmarking service. That means next time , when you see a good link , dont save it in your personal bookmarks folder. If you save it in delicious it will be available for you wherever you have network connectivity.

This is one of the most useful tools I have ever used and one of the most easiest to use also .

Apart from making your bookmarks accessible anywhere , it also enables you to share bookmarks and glean bookmarks from others.
